" WHY DOES MY IMAGE LOOK DIFFERENT DURING PROJECTION AT CLUB EVENINGS IF COMPAIRED TO WATCHING THE IMAGE USING IRFAN VIEW OR PHOTOSHOP?
The following observation is based on my own experience after some experimentation:
Since the Club introduced the new HD projector, I was amazed when I noticed that some of my images were out of focus, and/or had lots of grain and artifacts! But on my screen at home everything looked fine when I viewed it using Irfan View or Photoshop!!
It was by chance that I discovered that if I set my image, after it was manipulated and ready for competition, as my "DESKTOP BACKGROUND", it shows immediately if the image was over-sharpened or not sharp enough. Grain becomes more pronounced. Most flaws will show using this method.
I have found it good practice to sharpen the image again after resizing to 1024x768 pixels using the following unsharp mask settings:
Radius: 1 pixel
Threshold: 0 levels
Since using this method, I have no more complaints about my images when viewed using the HD projector. It can't be fooled.
Please let me know if it works for you. It works for me.
